An opportunity for hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees.
Forest School
is an inspirational process that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve, and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees.
Forest School is a specialised learning approach that sits within and complements the wider context of outdoor education. It aims to foster resilient, confident, independent and creative learners for whom deep-level learning and progression are the norm, and to equip them with experiences and skills that readily transfer to other environments, for example, that of the classroom. Forest School is for all learners but has been particularly effective in promoting educational success in disaffected learners with a wide range of needs.
In addition, and very importantly in these days of increasing awareness of the effects of climate change, Forest School allows learners to connect with nature and is very quick in helping them develop a life-long love of nature and fascination with the created world.
